How to become a Pilgrim and participate in the Diocese of Alexandria’s Pilgrimage of Hope program:

  • Visit any one of the 8 churches that are designated as Pilgrim Sites:
NOTE: Be sure to reference the Mass times located on each of the Pilgrim Site pages while planning your Pilgrimage to ensure that the location will be open during your visit.
    1. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Alexandria
    2. Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Natchitoches
    3. Augustine Church, Isle Brevelle
    4. Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission Church, Forest Hill
    5. Holy Ghost Church, Marksville
    6. Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Vidalia
    7. Paul the Apostle Church, Mansura
    8. Anthony of Padua Church, Bunkie
  • During your first site visit, look for the Jubilee Banner to pick up your “Pilgrim’s Passport” and begin your journey.
  • At each location, sign the “Pilgrims of Hope” Guestbook, attend Mass or prayer service, get your sticker and stick it on the Passport page for the church you visited.
  • To learn the Mass times for the locations and/or more about the church parish, simply scan the QR code in your passport for the church you plan to visit.
  • Continue #3 above for all eight locations…. Don’t forget to get your passport sticker!
  • There is also a bonus page in the passport to “Put your faith into action”. These are a few ways to earn additional stickers by visiting and/or serving in the community.  For example, if you attend a youth OR adult conference hosted by the Diocese of Alexandria, stickers will be available at registration.  These are not required to “complete” the pilgrimage, however are thought provoking ways to be involved in diocesan programs.
  • Upon completing your pilgrimage to the 8 churches (and optional projects discussed in #6 above if you chose to do so), drop off or mail your completed Pilgrim’s Passport to:

Diocese of Alexandria
Attn: Pilgrim Passport
4400 Coliseum Blvd.
Alexandria, LA 71303

Once received we will verify your site visits and ensure the stickers are complete on each Pilgrim Site Churches page within your Passport. In recognition of your Pilgrimage journey and participation in the Jubilee of Hope, you will receive a Pilgrims of Hope certificate signed by Bishop Marshall, a specially designed challenge coin, AND your passport will be returned to you.

  • Share along the way!

Invite along a traveling companion to join you on your journey.

Make it a family event and check out the Jr. Pilgrim page for kids!
