Where: Plaucheville and Dupont flood relief locations
All donations for the Plaucheville and Dupont area are going to the Plaucheville Community Center. There are meals being prepared daily. It is a community effort. The designated place varies on the day of the meal. St. Joseph School, Mater Dolorosa Church, Plaucheville Community Center and the Point of Life Church in Plaucheville have all been used as sites. If someone wanted to donate they could go to any of the previously named areas and we would make sure it makes it to the designated area. You can also visit the Mater Dolorosa Church website and click the donate buttons.
Where: St. Rita Church, 4401 Bayou Rapides Rd., Alexandria, LA
Bring your items to Mass the weekend of June 27-28 and leave in the boxes in the church foyer.
We will deliver the items to Avoyelles Parish on Monday, June 29
Items needed: cleaning supplies, Clorox wipes, cleaning rags, toilet paper, paper towels, towels and wash cloths, etc., bottled water, canned drinks, snacks such as boxes of chips, Little Debbie snacks, etc….baby supplies such as diapers & wipes, socks for adults and children.
Catholic Charities of Central LA is co-chair of the Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.
We coordinate with organizations who are on the front lines of response and will continue to be present to Avoyelles residents during long term recovery.
The Long-Term Recovery Group will process applications for repairs after other sources of assistance have been exhausted.
All funds donated go directly to these response and recovery processes.
