Diocese compliance with mandated closures

As a result of the Coronavirus health issue, the seven Roman Catholic dioceses of Louisiana are all in compliance with the statewide mandated closure of non-essential businesses.  The Diocese of Alexandria announced that the Saint Joseph Catholic Center, the diocesan offices, will remain closed until after the Easter Holiday.  This closure is to re-enforce the isolation efforts stressed by state and private health care officials for all individuals across the state.
Catholics are encouraged to follow the diocesan website to stay informed of developments in this regard.
On Monday afternoon, news arrived from New Orleans that Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Alexandria, has tested positive for the virus.  At this time, Catholics throughout the diocese are asked to offer  prayers for Archbishop Aymond and  all who are suffering as a result of this health emergency.
