The entirety of our faith is most perfectly expressed in our celebration of the Eucharist. The God who is Love (1 John 4:8) joined himself to humanity in the incarnation, encounters us in the paschal mystery and now – through the Eucharist – freely seeks to welcome us into the perfect communion of love that is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. What a tremendous gift has been offered to us!

We begin the 2023 Annual Diocesan Appeal during this National Eucharistic Revival. Everything we have, and everything we are is God’s Gift. Our faith, our lives are Our Response. Each year, through the ADA, we seek your financial support to help our diocese carry out many of its essential tasks – helping parishioners to deepen their faith through ongoing formation and sacramental preparation, caring for our retired priests, helping those discerning a vocation to priesthood, diaconate and religious life, providing support to our neighbors in need through the work of Catholic Charities, and many other important services in the life of our diocese. This year, your support is needed more than ever. We want to meet the pastoral, educational and spiritual needs of our people, and to announce to all the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Please prayerfully consider what your faith response will be to the ADA and, more importantly, to God’s gift to you. Please take a moment to fill out the enclosed prayer card, including your prayer intentions, and return it to the diocesan offices. We know the enormity of God’s Gift; Our Response should be generous and heartfelt.

Live Jesus in our hearts,
Most Reverend Robert W. Marshall, Jr.
