Lenten Regulations: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards. For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. March 1-29 • Lent in the Footsteps of Jesus, Bordelonville

The Lenten journey with Jesus for forty days reminds us that our life is a never-ending combat in which the weapons of reflective reading of the Biblea supported by prayer and sacrifices will lead us to a personal experience of the mystery of Easter Triduum.

St. Peter and St. Michael Churches in Bordelonville will sponsor a 5-week series to follow this Lenten journey. Join us every Sunday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for a spiritual talk presented by Fr. Shoury in St. Peter Church hall followed by a fruitful discussion for personal salvation.
