Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion training

The Diocese of Alexandria will be offering training workshops for those individuals who are interested, who currently may serve or who have served in the past as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in their parish.  To serve in this role, one must be of good standing with their Catholic faith and need the approval of their pastor.  Training sessions will cover theology of the Eucharist, practicalities of distribution, Communion at Mass under both species, and taking Communion to the sick or homebound.  After you complete the workshop, your pastor will be notified, after which you can get with him in regard to the particulars in your parish.  If you have any questions, please email or call Deacon Jason Lavergne in the Office of Religious Education and Faith Formation at dcnjlavergne@diocesealex.org or (318) 445-6424 ext. 207.

All training workshops will present the same material and will last no longer than three hours.  Please sign up below for any one workshop that best fits your schedule:

Saturday, April 15 – 9:00 a.m. – St. Joseph Catholic Center Conference Room, Alexandria
