Annual Tribunal Conference to be virtual

It is with much excitement that we notify our members and regular convention attendees of our very first virtual CCTO Convention! The annual Conference of Chancery and Tribunal Officials of the Provinces of New Orleans and Mobile will be held online from Wednesday, Nov. 18 through Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 (Central Standard Time). The Conference, first created in 1951, serves as the Southern regional chapter of the Canon Law Society of America.

The Diocese of Alexandria, as host of this year’s conference will be hosting the following virtual conferences as follows:

Nov. 18, 2020 – Dr. William Daniel, JCD
9:00 am – Mitis Iudex 5 Years Later: Analysis and Reflection
11:00 am – Mitis Iudex 5 Years Later: Analysis and Reflection
1:00 pm – Reform of Book 6: Sanctions

Nov. 19, 2020 – Dr. Massimo Faggioli, PhD
9:00 am – A Missionary Church of Mercy: Pope Francis and Vatican II
11:00 am – A Missionary Church of Mercy: Pope Francis and Vatican II
1:00 pm – The Abuse Crisis and the Church in the United States

Dr. Daniel is a professor of Canon Law at Catholic University of America, Washington D.C.

Dr. Faggioli is a professor of Theology at Villanova University, Philadelphia, PA.
