After more than 20 years of service to the ministry of St. Mary’s Residential Training School, Christi Guillot will be stepping down from her role as administrator effective July 26, 2024.

Mrs. Guillot has been a faithful leader at St. Mary’s, guiding the campus through transformational moments including the $9M construction project of 15 group homes and navigating St. Mary’s through the challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

All of us at the Diocese of Alexandria have a deep sense of gratitude for Mrs. Guillot’s commitment to bettering the lives of young people with developmental disabilities and continuing Bishop Greco’s vision of being a loving home for God’s children with special needs.

As we enter the newest chapter for St. Mary’s, I am pleased to share that I have appointed Tony ‘Bo’ Vets, II as the Interim Administrator, also effective July 26, 2024.  I am also inviting St. Mary’s Board of Directors to ratify this as a permanent appointment at their August board meeting.

Mr. Vets is a veteran member of St. Mary’s leadership team, serving most recently as the Programs Director for the past 11 years.  He brings with him a heart of service, vast experience, and love for St. Mary’s mission.  Mr. Vets is also a board certified behavior analyst with extensive knowledge of evidence based practices that improve the quality of life for people with autism and other special needs.

When St. Mary’s celebrates its 70th Anniversary this fall, we are excited to unveil our future with Mr. Vets, while celebrating the contributions of Mrs. Guillot and the administrators who came before her.
