The Religious Education Office assists the
Bishop in supporting catechetical leadership for the Diocese of
Alexandria. Working with pastors, parish and school personnel, we endeavor to help develop and affirm catechists as well as offer resources in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Opportunities for catechist formation are offered through the diocesan office and in some parishes.
Our Mission Statement
The Office of Religious Formation and Training seeks to guide others into a lifelong encounter with and formation in Jesus Christ. We assist disciples of all ages in their journey to full maturity in the Roman Catholic Church through human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral growth.
The Resource Center at the St. Joseph Catholic Center (Diocesan Office) is open to the public and is a tremendous resource for all who want to learn about the Catholic Church. It can be accessed from 8:30am - 4:00pm any weekday through the Office of Religious Formation and Training. Books and vides can be checked out including many new titles on apologetics, Benedict XVI, and many more.
The Religious Education Office is excited to offer this opportunity for all Catholics and anyone interested in growing in the Catholic faith. Through the study of good Catholic resources and the support of our community we can see the face of Jesus more clearly and come to know more fully what He intends for His Body here on earth.
