History

    Under the administration of Bishop Charles P. Greco, Our Lady of Sorrows Church was established in 1946; at the time, the Rev. Stanley J. DeKeuwer was assigned to the nearby Sacred Heart Catholic Church, also in Moreauville.  The new parish was established for Black Catholics in the area and placed under the care of the Holy Ghost Fathers.  A priest of the Congregation of the Holy Cross also served the parish in the 1970's.  A school was opened circa 1949 and remained opened until 1970.

Weddings

Contact Fr. Marc Noel at 985-2774,  four months prior to wedding date. Couples will be given an appointment to begin Marriage Preparation. The time of a wedding will be no later than 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays,  nor earlier than 2 hours after the Saturday Vigil Mass.

Baptism 

Baptisms are held on the first Sunday of each month. For August, Baptismal Classes will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 9:00 at Sacred Heart Rectory and Baptisms will take place during the 8:00 a.m. Holy Mass on Sunday, August 3, 2008.
