The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops convened in an unprecedented coming together of key leaders from dioceses and Catholic organizations from across the United States on July 1-4 in Orlando, FL.

The gathering assembled Catholic leaders together in order to assess the challenges and opportunities of our time, particularly in the context of the Church in the United States.

This ongoing initiative of the Bishops' Working Group on the Life and Dignity of the Human Person hoped to spark strategic conversations, under the leadership of the bishops, on forming missionary disciples to animate the Church and to engage the culture.

Attending from the Diocese of Alexandria were: Bishop David Talley; Father Adam Travis, pastor of St. Martin Church of Lecompte and Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Forest Hill; Father Craig Scott, pastor of St. Rita Church in Alexandria and Vicar of Clergy for the Diocese of Alexandria; Father Jose' Robles-Sanchez, pastor of St. Mary's Assumption Church, Cottonport and Director of Steubenville South Youth Conference; Deacon Richard Mitchell, a member of the Office of Divine Worship for the diocese; Sister Kateri Mitchell, SSA, Executive Director for the National Tekakwitha Conference Center; Jessica Viator, Director of Manna House in Alexandria; Cole Churchman, Director of Development for the diocese; Father Emilio Garreaud, National Priest Director of Radio Maria, USA.
